While they still don't know whether they'll be visiting Detroit later this winter, six Bears will be going to Honolulu. The Pro Bowl Teams were announced on Wednesday with six Bears mading the NFC squad.

2005_12_sports_pro_bowl_lei.jpgNot really a surprise, five of the six are on defense. Brian Urlacher makes his 5th trip to the Pro Bowl and will be joined by safety Mike Brown, cornerback Nathan Vasher, linebacker Lance Briggs and defensive tackle Tommie Harris. Last time the Bears sent 5 defensive players to the Pro Bowl? 1985, of course! The lone offensive player is center Olin Kreutz, who is making his 5th trip to Hawaii.

In spite of sending more players than any team in the NFL except for the 13-1 Indianapolis Colts (who send 7), there are a few Bears who are among those getting snubbed. Adewale Ogunleye, with 10 sacks, should have gotten the Pro Bowl invite. So should have Thomas Jones. Expected to lose his starting job to rookie Cedric Benson, has also put up Pro Bowl numbers this year with 1168 yards and 8 TDs so far. The Falcons' Warrick Dunn has about 100 more yards but 5 fewer TDs -- and Jones has probably gained a higher percentage of his team's offense than any player in the NFL. Anyone else you think got snubbed?
