Who's Fighting And What For?

For some reason, we’ve always believed that you haven’t really gotten down and dirty with the CTA, if you will, until you’ve become familiar with the joys that make up the system of buses that complement the more streamlined system of trains.

Chicagoist has also never been quite been able to put our finger on what it is that makes the bus attract a larger percentage of the mentally ill, the strange, the drunk, the belligerent, the weird, the smelly and the uncategorizable. Especially since there is a driver that is able to directly address such people and any issues that may arise from their actions.

However, this did not stop two gentlemen from fighting on Sunday (the start of Hanukkah and the celebration of the birth of Jesus, no less!) on a bus in the 100 block of East 103rd street. One of the men hit the steering wheel, causing the bus to veer off the road and hit a chain link fence.

11 people were sent to the hospital, but everyone was okay. What we want to know is how the bus driver let that fight go that long? Pull the bus over and call the cops! For all you budding writers, at least the bus will always be a source of good creative non-fiction.
