Going to The Berghoff Before it Closes? Good Luck!

Last night Chicagoist tried to meet up at The Berghoff to reminisce about old times there, mourn the passing of a Chicago institution, and drink our butts off, but when we arrived, plans changed quickly. The line to get into the restaurant was down the block and around the corner down Dearborn. "No problem, we're going to the bar," we thought. Wrong again! The bar was butts to nuts crowded, if you know what we mean! While we still want to go back to experience The Berghoff one last time, we're still strategizing about when would be the best time. .. middle of the day on a weekday?
