My Address? I Live in the IBM Building.

2006_01_ibm_building.jpgPrime Group Realty, the owners of the IBM Building, just lost their 2 largest tenants and with the office market in a big slump, they're considering converting part or all of their building to residential condos. Prime Group would start by making the lower floors condos then would consider converting the rest of the tower later on.

The downtown condo market is booming so condo conversions have been all the rage. And even though people in the IBM Building wouldn't have that great of a view with the Trump Tower going up, there are plenty of other things that will draw people to the location. First off, this is a wet dream for people who are uber fans of Mies van der Rohe, the building's architect. And just because the view will blocked, don't forget that Trump's tower will also bring in more restaurants and retail, as well as adding a health club.

Everyone's saying the IBM conversion would be the most prominent downtown office building to go condo. What do you think about everything going condo lately?
