Your Bogus Illini Tickets Won't Work Tonight

A bunch of U of I basketball fans went to Wednesday night's game and found out they'd been swindled. Their tickets were fake. As the 10 people went to find their seats they realized there's no seat location for the spots listed on the tickets. Another clue the tickets were fake? The word "Illinois" was mispelled as "Illinios" not once, but twice on the tickets. Also? Some of the tickets had TicketMaster logos on them and the University of Illinois doesn't use TicketMaster. Need another clue? The face value was $50 and the price for Section A tickets, which the tickets were supposed to be, is only $27. So not only did these guys get screwed, but they also paid almost twice the price!
Fans with the phony tickets were allowed to stay for the game, but officials say that won't happen again. So all of you who just thought, "Hey, maybe I'll make myself up some fake tickets and go to the game tonight" - don't do it, it won't work.
If you're buying tickets for upcoming games: Buyer Beware. Make sure Illinois is spelled right, make sure you're paying the right price, make sure the seat exists, and instead of a TicketMaster logo, legit tickets all have a picture of Dee Brown on them.
