Help Wanted: Prison Bitch, competitive salary

The village of Maywood has agreed to pay $750,000 to settle a lawsuit with a man who was beaten and forced to strip by another inmate in the Maywood jail. George Caithammer was in a holding cell in June of 2004 after being arrested for a traffic violation when his assailant, a known violent offender, hit him over 60 times in 20 minutes.

Caithammer screamed and waved at the video camera in the cell but officers took too long to help him (the video footage at CBS 2 is especially entertaining--we like the third guy who just sits on the floor the whole time watching). The attacker was charged with aggravated battery but got off by reason of insanity and now lives in an institution.

Caithammer was treated for a concussion and other injuries, but that's pretty mild by prison beating standards. Didn't they ever see Oz or American History X? We think Maywood got taken; $750 grand is a lot of coin for a concussion. Too bad it wasn't a good old fashioned teabagging, they could have just waved it off as boys being hot, sweaty boys.
