2006_01_frindle.jpgNeed something to do with the kids on Sunday now that the Bears are out of the playoffs and you care nothing for the rest of the teams playing? In its first family edition program aimed toward a younger audience, Stories on Stage is collaborating with the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) and Chicago Public Radio (CPR) to bring the kickass children's book Frindle to the stage.

Frindle was written by the national best-selling author and Chicago native Andrew Clements. It's his first bestseller and has been nominated for more than 35 children's book awards. Frindle will be read out loud by a few Chicago authors - Ted Hoerl, Karen Janes Woditsch, and Nick Lewis.

Kathe Telingator, Executive Producer for Stories on Stage, says "This special family edition of Stories on Stage is an opportunity to spend a cozy afternoon with children's literature aimed at an audience aged nine to twelve and the young at heart."

The event starts at 3pm on Sunday, January 22 and is at the MCA. If you're an MCA member or a CPR member, adult tickets are $15 and kids 12 and under are $10. Nonmembers have to pony up $18 for adults and $12 for kids. You can get tickets by calling 312-397-4010 or from the MCA website.
