Give That Fugly Sweater You Don't Wear to Someone in Need

2006_02_warm_clothes.jpgIt might have been a mild January, but it's supposed to get really cold really soon. Which makes this a good time to remind you of all the homeless and at-risk people who still need warm clothes to make it through the rest of the winter.

In cooperation with the Salvation Army & WXRT, LaSalle Bank has placed collection barrels in all of its branches throughout Illinois to collect new or gently used socks, scarves, earmuffs, gloves, sweaters, coats, blankets, or anything else that helps keep a person warm. As the barrels are filled they'll be taken to the Salvation Army to be distributed to people in need. Their goal is to collect 100,000 warm clothing items.

We know if you just open your dresser drawer or your closet you'll easily be able to find an old sweater or pair of socks you never wear any more. So why not stop by a LaSalle branch anytime between now and March 31 and donate that item to a needy person?
