Happy Gothentine’s Day

By Rachelle Bowden in News on Feb 7, 2006 7:40PM

We know that it’s all the rage right now to go to alternative Valentine’s Day events, to the point where the hippest thing you could do this February 14 is spend it with a significant other at a nice restaurant. From re-enactments of the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre to the Chicago Turtle Club’s Turtletine Day, everyone is in on the unconventional holiday action.

2006_02_gothhug.jpgTop on our list, however, is still the freaks and geeks out there looking for something fun to do. For the goths feeling in a particularly loving mood on V-Day, it might be a little harder to find others feeling the same way. Gothic Chicago does, though, and so they’re having a party—"Tainted Love," Another Planet’s Valentine’s Day Dance at Neo, of course. Once you’ve met the match for your dark soul, spend time with them at other gothy events.

Besides that, anyone who wants in with the Chicago goth scene can check out the Chicago Goth Meet-up Group, too—but no guarantees that you’ll find a date for the dance.

Thanks, Alicia!
