Raizel the Roof!

2006_02_dance.jpgRaizel Performances is a Chicago-based dance company that you may not have heard of. They describe themselves as "fledgling, underground and independent modern" (lots o' adjectives!). Last year they had 2 small shows (Fall 2004 and Spring 2005) and they're having another this March at the Open End Gallery. They plan to raise the bar this time and have a large orchestra on stage with them for the performance.

Raizel Performances is totally independent, though, and trying to raise some funds for their endeavors. Cue the fun! Raizel will be hosting an oldies dance party on February 11th at 9pm at the Open End Gallery where lots of Chicago bands and DJs will be covering favorite oldies all night long. Bands include Mung, I Need Sleep, Yea Big, Plan B, Hot Love, Bird Names, and a few others. The cover is only 6 bucks and that includes 2 free drinks. It sounds like a great time, a cheap time, and all the money's going to a great cause.
