The Thaw Begins

Chicagoist has been spending way too many nights at home this winter because who in their right mind would want to travel to this freezing tundra to entertain us anyway? We've been enjoying the great local bands, but national acts are starting to come back with more frequency and, boy, are we are happy.
Two shows on Monday have caught our ear. The first is the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at Logan Square Auditorium. Here's hoping that spring thaw is in full effect because the only way to get tickets (besides paying those evil "legitimate" scalpers) is to stand in line. The band is playing stuff off their soon to be released new album Show Your Bones. .
Our next favorite, except for the start time of midnight, is Tamar who is joined onstage by Prince at the Congress Theater. Doors open at 10:30 pm and for a mere $50 plus convenient ticketmaster fees it is a chance to see neo-soul royalty decked out in purple.
If Chicagoist seems a little slow on the uptake Tuesday these two shows will be the reason why. We will definitely be at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and promise a review for our loyal readers.
