chang.jpgWe love give-aways! So we're setting one up for you, and this one is rockin'. Chicagoist will be giving away five copies (FIVE COPIES?!) of Jeff Chang's "Can't Stop Won't Stop, A History of the Hip Hop Generation". Just click on the link below, give us your information and we’ll get you entered. You’ve got till the end of the week to sign up and we'll notify you by email if you've won!

“Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” is a history of hip-hop that starts in the Bronx and follows its rise through to the top of the cultural mainstream. Chang looks at the history of the music with an analytical, journalistic mind, and what starts as a history of hip-hop, turns into an analysis of race, politics and art. Chang also uses interviews and first person accounts to teach us how the music changed the world and how the world changed the music.

Jeff Chang will also partner up with Kevin Coval for a night of "Hip Hop, Poetry and Discussion.” The event is free and open to the public, so get your flip flops on (oh, wait, sorry) hip hop on, and come check it out. And make sure to sign up for the give away, cause you can’t receive till you ask, right? Right.

You can see Jeff Chang and Kevin Coval on Tuesday, February 28 at 7:30 PM 826 CHICAGO, 1331 North Milwaukee Ave.773-772-8108
