Do You Know My Poetry?

2006_03_kidsnguns.jpgChicagoist was perusing the papers (okay, the internets) this morning and came across two very distinct articles. One that adds to the rap-is-evil myth and another which expounds on the work that rappers are doing to make the world a better place.

First up is the shooting of 2 stewards (we're assuming this to mean security type usher people) at a Kanye West show across the pond. Kanye has avoided the gangsta-type obsession with guns, but apparently one of his "fans" who didn't even have a ticket for the show decided the best way to deal with being asked to leave was to come back and shoot up the place.

On the flip side of that coin, Common does a Q&A regarding his series of children's books that he is penning. These books deal with issues that face children growing up in today's world, from self-esteem to fitting in and the AIDS epidemic. Common plays his second night at the House of Blues this evening at 9 pm.
