Stabbin' John Charged With Double Murder

When a pimp calls the police for help, then agrees to continue helping their investigation, you know something's gone terribly wrong. Chicago pimp Jesse Miser called police early Sunday morning because he was worried about one of his escorts, 21-year old Kristi Hoenig, who had made a call to a home in Addison. It turns out that he was right to be worried about the haters.
DuPage State's Attorney Joe Birkett says that Hoenig's john, 23-year old Gary Schuning, stabbed her to death as she made a call for help to Miser. But unfortunately, that's not the worst part of the story. Schuning had come home earlier from a night of partying, got into an argument with his mother, stabbed her to death, then hid her body in the house. Later we suppose he needed to unwind a little after killing his mom, so he called the escort service, agreeing to pay $1,200 for Hoenig to come to his house. She found a bloody knife in the bathroom and called for help, and that's when Schuning attacked and killed her. He then stabbed himself repeatedly in an attempted coverup. He says Hoenig started the violence by attacking his mother, and that he stabbed her in self-defense. But Birkett says evidence shows that the two women were clearly killed separately with a significant amount of time between the murders. Schuning was charged with both murders yesterday.
And what's a playa get after losing one of his girls and helping the police? A felony pandering charge. But our vast knowledge of the court system from watching Law & Order SVU makes Chicagoist think that if his help leads to a conviction, they might just cut him a break.
