Cheney Visits the Burbs

That cold wind that took over the Chicago area yesterday afternoon? It was none other than Vice President Dick Cheney.
Cheney was in the suburbs yesterday to raise money for Peter Roskam, the 6th District Republican candidate for Congress. Roskam will face either Tammy Duckworth, Christine Cegelis, or Lindy Scott in the November election. The Democratic battle has been hard fought and well publicized nationwide, while Roskam is running unopposed in the Republican primary.
The 6th District has been represented by Republican Congressman Henry Hyde for the past 32 years, but Hyde is retiring. Cheney said, "I know that Henry Hyde is behind Peter 100 percent. So am I. So is the president."
If that's not enough incentive to vote Democrat, then we don't know what is. Cheney's approval rating stands at 18% nationwide, and even lower in Illinois. He doesn't really seem to be the best man to have in your corner, but Cheney is still popular with the guys who write the big checks.
