Prior to See Specialist for Sore Shoulder

2005_06_sports_prior.jpgRemember a few weeks back, when the Baseball Prospectus ran an article quoting an anonymous source who reported that the Cubs' Mark Prior looked to be suffering from shoulder problems?

And remember how Cubs GM Jim Hendry strongly denied that there was anything wrong with Prior? If you're like Chicagoist, you figured then it could be a while before we saw Mark Prior pitch in an actual game.

Either Baseball Prospectus's anonymous tipster is psychic, or Jim Hendry flat out lied because today the Cubs reported that Mark Prior will have his sore shoulder checked by a specialist In Los Angeles on Wednesday. Isn't that absolutely amazing? Three weeks ago, Prior's shoulder was fine in spite of reports to the contrary. Now, it's injured? Who ever could have imagined? Guess Cubs fans can begin working on their "Wait 'til next year!" cries now.
