Get Ready For Snow!

By Rachelle Bowden in News on Mar 16, 2006 2:55PM

2006_03_snow.jpgLook out, Chicago. We thought (hoped? prayed?) that we were done with snow, but here it comes!

A mix of snow and rain is moving into the area and expected to begin this morning, but that's just the beginning. The storm will get worse throughout the day, and in the end we might be plowing through 6 inches of snow on our way home from work tonight. There's actually a winter storm warning that's to remain in effect til midnight.

Hopefully most of the city will stay cleaned up. Our Snow Command has its entire fleet of 269 "snow fighting" trucks on call so they'll be all ready when it starts snowing. Also, it's supposed to be pretty warm today - in the high 30s - so, maybe this shit will all just melt off. Or be rain instead of snow. Still, it's sure to be a mess. The only good thing is that wet snow is usually packy snow ... great for snowballs!
