Spring Is Bringing It!

Our favorite weatherman, Tom Skilling, who always had the mad skills when it comes to laying down an accurate weather forecast, tells us today by way of the Trib that along with our potential high of 70 degrees, the "wind gusts are to reach 30 m.p.h. at ground level."

From boasting about getting the World's Fair 1893, to a headline in the Cleveland Gazette in 1885, there are many different references to Chicago as the "Windy City." While there has always been debate and speculation about how the Windy City got its moniker, there are some references which are helpful in trying to sort out all the materials at hand.

The wind gusts will send dewpoints--a measure of atmospheric moisture--soaring into the mid 50s.
The non-criminal Skilling says the dewpoint is a level of moisture known to help fuel the development of powerful thunderstorms, like the severe weather outbreak predicted for the next two days.

We love thunderstorms. There's something thrilling about thunder and lightning that we get off on. We were more than happy to trade in our snow this winter for a few good winter thunderstorms. Combine that with our favorite day of the year coming up on Saturday night/Sunday morning, and this is going to be one great week.
