Proving He's Bears Material?

Lately, it has seemed like the Bears players just cannot stay out of trouble with the law. There were so many inciidents that we even suggested a Clue-like game to predict who, where and why a Bears player would next be arrested. Following two incidents by Tank Johnson, Daven Holly was nabbed after shots were fired from his SUV.
Now, even guys who haven't officially joined the team are going that extra step to prove they fit in. Just days after receiving an offer sheet from the Bears, restricted free-agent CB Ricky Manning Jr. was arrested for assault, "at about 3 a.m. [Sunday ] after he allegedly hit a man in the face along with four or five companions at a Denny's restaurant in the Westwood section of Los Angeles."
The Bears offered him a 5-year/$21 million deal, that he either gets to sign or have his current team (Carolina Panthers) match, and he cannot come up with any place better than Denny's for some late night dining? Chicagoist used to end a night there, too, but that was in high school in the suburbs. We'd think a pro football player, with fame, fortune, access to a big city and no curfew could do a little better. And really, has anything good ever come out of a late night trip to Denny's?
