Chicagoist Enters Terrible Twos, Rocks Your Ass

Next week, Chicagoist officially turns two years old so we’re throwing ourselves a party with cake, booze, and some down-and-dirty rock and roll.
At 9 p.m. on Thursday June 8th, Chicagoist will host its 2nd Anniversary Party with special guest Suffrajett at the Pontiac Café (1531 N. Damen). A Chicagoist fave, Suffrajett combines hard rocking, fuzzed-out guitars with funky R&B grooves and a live show that will leave you sweaty and happy.
But that’s not all. The fine folks at Pontiac Café have given their blessings to this lovely of occasions and are offering Chicagoist readers $3 vodka lemonades and $3 Bell's Oberon. And, we plan on making this an all-night, ass-shakin’ good time, so we’ve lined up two DJs who are quite adept at ass-shakin’ facilitation. DJ Coco Le Roc a.k.a. Jessica Hopper will put down her pen and lay down the stank to thrill you, kill you and Cruella DeVil you. There’s also a fella by the name of DJ Tankboy (who you might have heard of) that will make you dance to your next new favorite band.
We’ve also got a few other surprises in store including giveaways and other party favors. We may even play Pin the Tail on the Donkey if you promise not to behave yourself.
Best of all? It’s a free show. F-R-E-E. If you can think of a better way to spend a Thursday, you go ahead and do it. But you’ll regret it.
In the past two years, we’ve done our best to cover all the best things about Chicago whether it be news, politics, food, or the arts. Not for nothing, but we couldn’t do it without you, dear reader. So consider this a big-ass thank you for using us as a way to avoid finishing those first quarter earnings reports.
So to sum up: Chicagoist, 2nd Anniversary, June 8th, Pontiac Café, Suffrajett, DJs Coco Le Roc and Tankboy, Ass-shakin’, and you.
