newgglogo.JPGThe Bean is finally finished, and it’s getting the royal treatment today at a dedication ceremony. The sculpture has already become a Chicago icon and will be featured on the uniforms of Team Chicago at this summer’s Gay Games VII.

Team Chicago’s logo, unveiled last week, also pays tribute to the Chicago skyline and, it seems, the city’s namesake band.

The uniforms consist of light blue jackets and matching T-shirts featuring the new logo. Can you dig it? Yes you can.

ChiLogoYellow.JPGNo word on whether or not Chicago, the band, really knows what the logo is, or if they really care. But they will be in town to colour your world on Saturday, July 1 at Northerly Island.

The Gay Games kick off two weeks later on Saturday, July 15 at Soldier Field. The closing ceremonies will be held on Saturday, July 22 at Wrigley Field.

So, to sum up, that’s three Saturdays in the park. However, none will fall on the Fourth of July. But there will likely be people dancing and people laughing at all three events, and possibly even a man selling ice cream.

OK, we’re going to stop now.
