Coming to Macy's Soon: Frango Mints, iPod Vending Machines

2006_04_frangos.jpgAbout a month ago we heard that Federated is moving the production of Frango mints back to Chicago. Now here's a little more good news for one of our favorite chocolates: They're gonna need to make a lot of them because come fall Frango is going to be sold in all Macy's stores nationwide. We're thinking that this makes Frango a little less exclusive, but if they're being sold at a lot more stores, then they'll need more chocolates to supply the stores, which seems like it would mean more jobs for Chicagoans when production moves here? Are we right?

Also, in other Macy Field's news, starting in September, you'll be able to more easily indulge in your impulse electronics purchases when the stores are outfitted with iPod vending machines. Yeh, you read that right. Just swipe your card, pick your iPod model and/or accessories and away ya go. Crazy, but we're sure we'll continue to keep seeing big-ticket items making their way to vending machines in the future.
