As we put the wraps on May (can it stop raining now?), we want to remind you how we’re beginning the month of June: with our summer kickoff event, the Chicagoist 2nd Anniversary Party!

In case you’re just joining us, here’s what we’ve got planned. Thursday, June 8th, we’ll be convening at the Pontiac Café at 9 p.m. Headlining the event will be local rockers Suffrajett while DJs Coco Le Roc and Tankboy will be keeping your body movin’.

Since we’ll all be crazy from the heat* by then, we’ve arranged for some cheap drinks as well. Bell’s Oberon is available once again, and the Pontiac will be serving it up for $3 along with vodka lemonades for the same price. And if you show up early in the evening, we just might feel generous and buy you a drink or two.

Plus, we’ll be tossing some Chicagoist swag your way so you can advertise our site look sharp out at the street fests this summer.

Did we mention it’s free? ‘Cause it is.

So join us at the Pontiac on June 8th and allow us to thank you, in person, for being a loyal reader, loyal commenter, and loyal procrastinator. Otherwise, we’ll have to come to your house, and we know you don’t want us anywhere near your loved ones.

* Yeah, that’s right. We made a David Lee Roth reference.

Watch this space for an interview with Suffrajett later this week.
