To the Fair We Go!

By Margaret Hicks in Arts & Entertainment on Jun 2, 2006 1:46PM

We’re gearing up for the weekend and to see some of our favorite authors at the Printers Row Book Fair. We thought we’d tell you who we’re planning on seeing, but remember there are a gajillion more events; so make sure you check the schedule; there’s much too much to even fathom.

E.L. Doctorow
His latest novel “The March” won the National Book Critics Circle Award and was a finalist for the Pulitzer; grab a bacon, egg, and cheese, and head on over.
10:00AM Saturday
Harold Washington Library

Jessa Crispin
She’s our hero. She writes excellent columns for The Book Standard and is the Editor of Bookslut. Let’s face it, Jessa is who we secretly (or right out in the open) want to be.
11:00AM Saturday
Harold Washington Library/Multi-purpose room

Studs Terkel
Need we say more?
12:00PM Saturday
Harold Washington Library/Auditorium

A. Manette Ansay
We loved Ansay’s newest novel “Blue Water”. After reading about her lifelong struggles to remain healthy after years of misdiagnosis, we think she’s downright inspiring.
Saturday 4:00PM
Nelson Algren Stage

Gina Frangello
We just finished reading Chicagoan Gina Frangello’s new book, "My Sister's Continent". We hit a few rough patches due to confusing sentences and time jumps, but in the end we stayed up late just to get to the truth.
3:00PM Sunday
Nelson Algren Stage
Gina will also be a guest reader on June 7th at "Reading Under the Influence".
