The Chicago Fire comes home for the first time during the 2006 campaign after a rough nine game road trip. While they were gone their Bridgeview Stadium received a new name. After months of speculation the Chicago Fire announced deal with Toyota to name the stadium Toyota Park.
The Fire have lost their last two matches and are badly in need of a win. The Fire take on the New England Revolution this Sunday at 6pm. A win on Sunday would leapfrog the Fire ahead of the Revs. The Fire will need to find a way to win without several key players who are out due to injury including Jim Curtin, Diego Gutierrez and possibly Tony Sanneh.
This first match will be played in front of a limited crowd as it is a public safety match to ensure the stadium is safe for full size crowds after 20 months of construction. Tickets sales are not open to the public. The game is open to season ticket holders and Bridgeview residents. Everyone else will need to wait until the Official Grand Opening match on June 25th to check out the new digs at Toyota Park.
