We Just Like Saying "Bootylicious"

2006_06_beyonce.jpgWhile it is in our nature to be suspicious of these things, we have had friends in the past try out for various backing bands prior to national tours. Granted, these tryouts are usually arranged by agents and are selected from a pool of proven professional talent, but every once in a while a massive national tryout does lure in the occasional exceptional talent. (Yes, Mr. Marty “I’m a sexy Chicagoan” Casey, we are looking your way and finally giving you some props.)

Beyoncé (does anyone actually say her last name is Knowles anymore?) is looking for just such talent to form her backing band on her upcoming tour. There are only three rules you need to follow in order to make your grab for the brass ring of Beyoncé-ness:

  • You must be over 18
  • You must be able to play "Work It Out," as performed on the "Beyoncé: Live at Wembley" DVD
  • You must be a girl

Sorry dudes, you have no chance of getting a peek at the "bootylicious" on a regular basis as you tour from town to town.

We are also pleased to note that the song aspiring Pussycats need to play is one of Beyoncé's, so at least you know she's not trying to steal your riffs.

Tryouts are today at Pressure Point Recording Studios (2239 South Michigan Avenue) from noon until 9:00pm.

Good luck ladies, and if this post ends up being that which alerted you to glory on the road with Beyoncé, we fully expect a backstage pass when you come through Chicago.
