If you’re like Chicagoist, and we know that you are, you’re anxiously awaiting this weekend’s Clusterfest kickoff. Why wouldn’t you be? But if you can drag your ass out of bed early enough on Saturday, you can do a good deed and still have plenty of time to get yourself pretty for the big party. Just how pretty is up to you.
On Saturday morning, the Greater Chicago Food Depository will hold its 21st Annual Hunger Walk – a 2.5 mile, non-competitive event expected to draw 4,000 people. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at Montrose Harbor.
The walk will raise money to benefit agencies working with the depository – a group that distributed more than 40 million pounds of food to hungry Chicagoans last year. That’s more than 84,000 meals each day.
And all you have to do to help is walk. Easy enough, right?
