Premiere of "Once in a Lifetime"

07_07_06_cosmos_v2.jpgThis weekend, soccer legends like Pelé and Franz Beckenbauer will be in Berlin to see the 2006 FIFA World Cup Final featuring France vs. Italy. On Monday, Pelé and Franz Beckenbauer will be on the big screen for the Chicago premiere of Miramax's documentary, "Once in a Lifetime - The Extraordinary Story of the New York Cosmos."

FireWorks for Kids Foundation, the Chicago Fire's charitable arm is hosting the event at 6:30pm at AMC River East (322 East Illinois). The documentary tells the story of America's first successful soccer team in 1977 that featured many world-renowned soccer players. It follows the club's rollercoaster ride and dives into the players' lives on and off the field. Tickets to the movie are $10. The proceeds benefit the FireWorks for Kids Foundation.

Spend an extra twenty dollars ($30 total) and gain access to the after party at the 10 Pin Bowling Lounge (330 North State St.) and mingle with Chicago Fire stars. Attendees will have the chance to schmooze with a slew of Fire players including Zach Thornton, Chris Rolfe, Andy Herron, Justin Mapp, Gonzalo Segares, Dasan Robinson, Jim Curtin, Tony Sanneh, Nate Jaqua and Thiago.
