Take Photos This Weekend!

This weekend is supposed to be HOT HOT HOT so when you head out for your weekend activities, don't forget to hydrate! And not only with vodka drinks and beer, unless you want to be super drunk in 2.6 seconds! Of course, being that wasted might make your photos more interesting and this is where we remind you to tag your weekend photos with "Chicagoist" in Flickr for a chance to win our Festival/Parade/Weekend Chicago Event photo contest.

This weekend there's Old St. Pat's, which claims to be the world's largest block party, and with Cake and Rusted Root performing, who are we to argue? All we know is that this is one of the biggest drunkfests of the year. Trying not to be outdone, the 13th Annual Rock Around the Block might not have as famous of band's playing but they make up for it in quantity. More than 30 bands will be performing throughout Saturday and Sunday. And let's not forget about BenFest, where you'll kick it with a bunch of cover bands, food, arts & crafts and all the standard jazz.

If you're sick of standing around drinking Bud Light in the torturous sun with a 1,000 other 20- or 30-somethings, check out the Chinatown Summer Fair. The fair includes the Chicago Chinatown Music Festival, a Lion Dance Procession, and other cool events you won't find at your average block party. It's Sunday from 10am - 8pm and promises to have some great photo ops! Another alternative that we think would be great to capture on "film" are the Gay Games.
