- Today it was announced that an investigation has found that Chicago police mistreated suspects, but that the crimes are too old to prosecute. A bit later we got an email pointing us towards Indymedia, where the full report is availble in chunks to make it easier to understand.
- When it comes to expensive places to park daily, Chicago ranks #5 in the country behind midtown Manhattan, downtown Manhattan, Boston, and Honolulu.
- Reports say that the 3 finalists for the 2016 Summer Olympics are Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
- Mancow is broadcasting his morning show temporarily from WLS-AM. This is after getting fired from Q101 last week.
- Hey, uninsured drivers: Starting next summer you're gonna lose your license for 3 months and will have to pay $100 to get it back. And if you drive while it's suspended, you'll get your license yanked for an additional 6 months.
- Anyone want to go around the city picking up dead bodies? They'll pay you. Hopefully a lot.
- The Shedd is one of only 9 places in America that breeds beluga whales, and they have reason to celebrate this week. On Monday their beluga whale Puiji gave birth to a male calf at 6pm.
- Interesting question on Ask MeFi: "I am looking for places where I can purchase locally-farmed meat and dairy products in Chicago (preferably North Side, but I'm willing to travel a bit)."
