File Under: Summer Jobs That Must Suck

What is the summer if it doesn't - or didn't at some point - include a really horrible job?

In summers past, Chicagoist manned the drive-thru at a fast food joint, wrangled ambrosia on the salad bar at a steakhouse, cut lawns, delivered newspapers and even worked as a telemarketer.

We know. It was evil. But we were damn good at it.

Despite all of these jobs, never once did our summer jobs include donning a big foam ear and walking around downtown Chicago, and for that we are thankful. We're not entirely sure what product or service they're being made to hawk, but whatever it is, our hearts go out to these two individuals. Although the humiliation of wearing a an oversized body part on one's person may be tough, at least they'll have a really great story to tell people someday.

"Oh yeah? You think your job was bad? At least you didn't walk around downtown dressed like an ear ..."
