A little while ago, we remember some ads seeking couples having issues with their sex lives. As Chicagoist sat breathless from the obviously satisfying relations we enjoy (do we REALLY need a partner?), we wondered how anyone could take their sex lives to national television to discuss their problems.
But in the capable hands of Chicago businesswoman, Dr. Laura Berman, it doesn’t seem so terrible. Her new show “Sexual Healing” premiered on Friday on Showtime, and is produced by the Ganz Brothers, who also created “Taxicab Confessions”. Berman follows three different Chicago couples, and hopefully, coaxes them into a healthy relationship.
We’re sorry to say we missed it. (We only have HBO here at the Chicagoist offices, we mean really--is there any other show to watch besides "Entourage"?) However, if you live in the city, or we’re guessing any other one, it’s hard to escape Ms. Berman. She writes for the Sun-Times, has her own radio show, has been on Oprah and Good Morning America and runs The Berman Center here in Chicago. Her websites are slightly confusing because there are so many variations of the services she provides, but we can’t help being impressed that Berman found her niche and tickled it till it opened like a flower.
We don't mind Berman being everywhere. We think it's about time for America's new sex therapist; our other ones are getting a bit too old.
