Breaking Out Mom's Biscuit Recipe

2006_07_F4T.jpgHere's something for the ubiquitous gourmands among us: the Madison, Wisconsin-based Food For Thought Festival is hosting a recipe contest. The catch to the contest is that entries must use only local and sustainably produced foods. In other words, recipes are limited to ingredients grown and found in the Midwest.

Contest winner will be announced at the festival, held in Madison on September 15-16. The grand prize entry will receive $500, which should cover your gasoline expenses to and from the festival. Anyone interested may submit their recipes by clicking here and following instructions. Chicagoist is thinking that this contest would be perfect for our own little kitchen wizard, possibly locked in mortal combat with Gaper's Block's Cinnamon Cooper. We'd starve ourselves to judge that contest.
