Touch and Go 25th Anniversary Ticket Giveaway

Chicagoist, as we’ve always said, is for the children.*
So when we heard that the 10th Annual Hideout Block Party a.k.a. the Touch and Go 25th Anniversary Celebration was donating all its profits to three youth-focused organizations, we put any excuses aside and snatched up some tickets. But we wanted to do a little more, so we bought a few extra passes to (potentially) give to you, dear reader.
Chicagoist is giving away three weekend passes to the Touch and Go 25th Anniversary Celebration at Hideout from September 8th to September 10th. Things get started at 5 p.m. on Friday and continue throughout the weekend. The lineup is first-rate and won’t require you to walk a mile between stages either. So far, 24 of the 25 bands have been confirmed with reunions of Girls Against Boys, Didjits, Man…or Astroman? And Scratch Acid. Not to mention Shellac, Ted Leo, Enon, Calexico and Arcwelder. It’s gonna be nuts and we want to see you there.
Like all good things, these passes require a little work on your part. Send an e-mail to chicagoistcontest(@)gmail.com and tell us which band from the full lineup you’re dying to see that weekend and why. Be sure to include your full name and mailing address so we can send you the ticket if you win. We’ll pick the most creative, well-written and humorous entries and send you a three-day pass, courtesy of Chicagoist. The contest ends Wednesday, August 16th and winners will be notified via e-mail next week.
Losers will have to cough up the cash themselves or offer to be a volunteer. T&G has info up at their site about how you can earn your keep by serving beer, selling tickets, or cleaning up any blood that gushes from Ted Leo’s forehead after all is said and done.
* Not for children to read, mind you. We just want to teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside, etc.
