Touch And Go Ticket Giveaway Reminder

All the summer rock fests are over, but the real blowout is coming in September with the Touch and Go 25th Anniversary Celebration and the 10th Anniversary Hideout Block Party. If you want to go to the three-day extravaganza for free, you’ve got just one day left to enter our giveaway.

We’re handing out three of the 3-day passes to this event that runs from September 8th to September 10th at the Hideout. We’ve been jumping up and down like little girls over the lineup for months now and the wait is killing us now that a reunited Monochrid has been announced as the 25th band and the daily schedule is up.

If you’re feeling the same way, send an e-mail to chicagoistcontest@gmail.com and tell us why you absolutely, positively HAVE to be there and why you deserve the tickets over all the other shlubs. So far, most of the entries are of the “I must see (fill-in-the-name-of-your-favorite-band) before I die!” variety. Another had some disturbingly detailed descriptions of what the writer intended to do with Steve Albini should she find herself alone with him for a short while. There was sex, there was violence, there was sexy violence. It sort of made us queasy.

Whatever your reason, drop us an e-mail and tell us and you should win a weekend pass for one of the biggest annual events in Chicago music. Whether short on words or long on paragraphs, we’ll pick the most creative, well-written and humorous entries received by the end of today and will notify the winners by the end of the week.
