High School Kickoff Classic at Soldier Field

soldierfield.jpgDo you feel unfulfilled watching quarter after quarter of pre-season NFL football? Chicagoist sure does, and we were on the hunt to find some local football with results that actually mean something. With the NFL season still a few weeks away, Chicagoist is heading down to Soldier Field for some Illinois High School football action this weekend.

High school football fans can kick-off the 2006 season by watching the High School Football Classic, featuring three match-ups, on Saturday. The first match kicks off at Noon between Class 7A rivals Mt. Carmel (ranked #2 in Class 7A) and Joliet Catholic (ranked #4 in Class 7A). The 3:30pm game features Fenwick vs. Simeon. The final game of the night is between Class 8A St. Rita (ranked #4 in Class 8A) and Hubbard, the top ranked team in Class 6A.

Tickets can be purchased at the Soldier Field box office or through Ticketmaster.
