The DCA is down with the streets, as the Cultural Center’s latest exhibit features celebrated graffiti artist Dzine.

CPS’ Back to School party at Millennium Park’s Pritzker Pavilion runs tonight through Friday and features rockin’ kids ensembles, a Chic-a-Go-Go dance party, and school marching bands.

Here's a good ol' fashioned arts/media brawl. Sun-Times theater critic Hedy Weiss pans the Stages 06 musical showcase. The response from the Dramatists Guild President: reviewing works in development is like reviewing a restaurant before it opens, it's irresponsible. Guild Council members chime in: Yeah, what he said...especially when she didn't even stay to watch the whole thing. Weiss' response: Not so fast guys, I was invited to review these shows. Response from Samuel L. Jackson & Chicagoist: "Whoa! Y'all take a chill. You got to cool that shit off!" Reread her opening disclaimer:

In the interest of full disclosure: With just one day to devote to the project and eight shows to sample, I arrived with the notion that if I found any first act particularly compelling, I would stay through the whole show. Otherwise, I would move on.
