Empty Out Your Wallet

We hope you used our Decent Days and Nights as a guide to what fun things are going on in music this week. Empty Out Your Wallet is for those of us who obsessively plan ahead and like charging things on our credit cards. Here are some of the shows going on sale this weekend that could help fill out those upcoming Decent Days and Nights.
Bob Dylan
Kings of Leon
Oct. 27 & 28, Sears Centre, 7:30 p.m., $37-$77, All Ages
Bob Dylan has been complaining about the state of music today, yet has a great opener who actually is with the modern times. A great mix of past and present. Presale going on now via the Sears Centre site.
Black Crowes
Oct. 31, Riviera Theatre, 8 p.m., $44, 18+
Now that we see the price - this one isn't necessarily the best bet for Halloween, we might hold out to see who Local H is this year on Halloween. Ticketmaster link.
Frank Black
Reid Paley
Nov. 1, Metro, 7:30 p.m., $25, All Ages
Frank Black and Reid Paley on Day of the Dead - get up close and personal with these two guys who have distinctive voices at the Metro. On sale noon Saturday via Ticketmaster or the Metro box office.
Joan Baez
Nov. 7, Harris Theater, 7:30 p.m., $20-$50, All Ages
A folk legend in an intimate theater setting. Should not disappoint. On sale via ticketweb noon on Tuesday.
Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians
Oct. 25, Martyrs, 8 p.m., $25, 21+
Oh, there's no defending this one. It's solely for the OMG factor - what has living with Paul Simon and bearing his children done to our little Edie? Tickets available thru Ticketmaster.
More after the jump.
Panic! At the Disco
Bloc Party
Nov. 22, UIC Pavilion, 7 p.m., $30, All Ages
Don't worry that the bloggerati will think less of us for going to this, but we think there's a time and place to let your hair down, put on some great makeup and clothes, and just dance, dance, dance! Presale now people! Repent those "sins".
Michael Ian Black
Michael Showalter
Oct. 13, Metro, 9 p.m., $18, 18+
We have a stance about standing during stand-up, but we cannot get enough of our boyfriend, Michael Ian Black. These went on sale last week.
Sparta
Sound Team
Oct. 29, Metro, 6:30 p.m., $16, All Ages
We saw Sparta at Lollapalooza and figure they are worth checking out again. They may just be the only gray-haired (okay - distinguished) guys out there doing that emo thang. On sale Saturday at noon via Ticketmaster or the Metro box office.
And now for the show that if we hear you bought tickets for, we will lose all respect for you...
Antigone Rising
Oct. 3, Martyrs, 8 p.m., $10, 21+
Look for more choices to clog your calendar each and every Friday with Empty Out Your Wallet. We know this is not everything on sale this week, so in the comments give us your can't-miss shows going on sale this week. And then we'll realize that we have to spend a lot more money, if we ever hope to run into your sexy ass at a show.
