Dwelling on Chicago

September must be the month to run profiles of Chicago. On Friday we found an eclectic weekend itinerary for the Windy City in the New York Times, and just last night while flipping through Dwell, we came across this profile called "The Real Chicago." The folks from the flagship of the modern design porn interviewed architect Brad Lynch of the Chicago-based firm Brininstool + Lynch about some of his favorite spots in the city. Just like the Times piece, Lynch casts an eye toward more local flavor, holding forth from Club Lago in River North. He pegs the Inland Steel building, Robie House, and Jackson Park as some of his highlights. Honestly, the interview isn't as interesting as the photography included with it, including a stunning shot of the Music Box Theatre at night (not available online, sadly). But it's always nice to catch a glimpse of the familiar in one of our favorite rags.
