Isis Plows On, Snowden Settles In

2006_09_snowden.JPGWell, Lupe might not make it onstage tonight, but Isis ain't letting anything keep them at home. Apparently, due to a last-minute cancellation on the Tool tour they've been opening, they will be appearing at Beat Kitchen tonight! Opening for them are Beaten Awake and Yakuza. The mere thought of Isis' glacial sheets of metal pushing out at the walls of Beat Kitchen is enough to make us totally pee our pants with glee.

If guitar-induced pants-peeing isn't your thing, though, someone just reminded us that Snowden (the band from Atlanta that sounds like the band from NYC ... and we mean that in a really good way) is appearing at Subterranean tonight. Expect them to draw a crowd of asymmetrical hairstyles perched atop beautiful heads, so even if you don't dig their woozy blend of new wave and shoegaze, there'll be some cute boys/girls to chat up.

Oh yeah, and just in case you are one of the two people who didn't know, Jeff Tweedy is totally playing with Golden Smog tonight at The Vic. We hope they play that car commercial song...
