Oprah for President '08 Plans Foiled ... by Oprah!

This site is a gathering place for all those who feel that Oprah Winfrey would not only be a good candidate for president of the United States of America, but that she can WIN!

This is the intro to Patrick Crowe's website that tries to convince people that Oprah would be a great presidential candidate. This is also where Crowe is trying to get you to buy his new book, "Oprah for President: Run, Oprah, Run," where he's trying to get you to buy T-shirts, buttons and bumper stickers of the same nature, and where he tries to start a guerilla campaign of getting people to write "Oprah for President" on dollar bills. He even wants you to write letters and volunteer for the cause. Big whoop, right? Just another nut who has spent 2 years of his life on a worthless cause?

Well, Oprah got wind of it, and she's not having any of it! She says she has no interest in becoming the first female president, and her lawyers have asked Crowe to halt the production of his book. They say that the material could cause Oprah's reputation "damage and irreparable injury." Not only that, he's been asked to take down his website and a phone number he's set up, both of which contain Oprah's name.

Crowe says he's "genuinely puzzled" and doesn't know how any of it could cause her damage or injury. He says, "If Oprah asked you to run for president, would that be a compliment or would you threaten her with legal action?"

Of course, Smoking Gun has copies of the letter sent from Oprah's lawyers to Crowe.
