Slasher Chicks

chicagoist_2006_09_slashedt.jpgAs the air turns colder and fall approaches, our mind turns to things like raking leaves, hot cider, football tailgates, and of course, Halloweening. Chicagoist pulled a few pranks in our day, like TP-ing houses, soaping car windows, and chucking the occasional bag of flaming dog poo, but we always made sure we picked the right target. Apparently in Aurora, they don't plan ahead as carefully.

Like one of those Southwest Airlines "Wanna Get Away?" commercials in real life, two Aurora women slashed the tires of the wrong truck in an attempt to get back at one of their husbands for cheating on her. Tamieka Ayanechi wanted to punish her husband for humpin' around, so she called co-worker Johnnie Logan to help her vandalize her husband's truck. They found a silver truck just like it parked in front of an Aurora police station, slashed three of its tires, stuck a candy bar in the gas tank, and started removing the spare when they were caught. Turns out that the truck belonged to an Aurora police officer. D'oh! The women caused over $500 in damage to the truck and could face up to a year in prison.
