4th Annual Music Mixer

2006_09_rockkids.gifThe 4th Annual Music Mixer, put on by Rock For Kids is this Thursday, Sept. 28, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m at The Smartbar. This annual party/auction is put on to benefit Youth Jam, a program by Rock For Kids. This group is using music as a tool to transform kids' lives; as their site says, "Youth Jam provides opportunities for children to improve their self-esteem and gain confidence while having fun and expressing themselves through music."

Rock For Kids has basically gotten a bunch of cool Chicagoans to contribute a mix CD that will go up for auction. Those that are contributing this year are Devin Davis, OK GO, Pitchfork and many more. There is only one copy of each mix, and the contents of each mix is a surprise. We wouldn't doubt there are some surprises on those mixes. After being asked to create the mix CD for the auction Devin Davis started this little mash/mix-up project.

There is a $5 suggested donation to get in, and if for some reason you just can't get there, register online to bid via AIM or through your cell phone.

Thanks, Timmy!
