Priestess Ticket Giveaway

By Scott Smith in Arts & Entertainment on Sep 26, 2006 5:00PM

The last couple of years have seen the Canadian cities of Montreal and Vancouver acquiring reputations as hotbeds of indie rock. But the most recent northern export we’ve heard takes equal parts metal and Mountain and mixes it together to form a bluesy stew. We’re speaking here of 2006_09_priestess.jpgPriestess.

The tracks “Lay Down” and “Talk To Her” both have that sensibility flowing through them, as evidenced by the foot-tapping that accompanied our very subtle head-banging (the regional director’s in the office this week). They briefly made us long for the days of dudes hanging out in their I-Roc Z’s in the high school parking lot. We didn’t hang out with those dudes, mind you, as they’d just as soon beat our ass as look at us. Good times.

We’ve got four prizes for this giveaway: the grand prize is pair of tickets to see Priestess live at Abbey Pub with Nashville Pussy and Rye Coalition this Saturday. First prize is a signed vinyl copy of Priestess’ Hello Master album and two runners-up will receive signed copies of the CD. Hello Master will see a major-label release through RCA on October 3rd.

Click the jump to enter the giveaway. Contest ends Wednesday night. Winners will be notified via e-mail. Losers will be beaten up by that guy Pete who owns a two-tone Camaro and is the only dude in the freshman class to sport a ‘stache.
