Murderous Weekend

We don't know what is going on this weekend; the news is full of hit-and-runs, drive-by's, and general horrific murders

A 23-year-old kindergarten teacher at Chicago International Charter School on the South Side was headed to school on Friday morning when a crash sent a vehicle into oncoming traffic and killed her. The driver that started the accident then fled the scene. The accident took place at the Stony Island feeder ramp to the Bishop Ford Freeway.

Saturday night a woman was walking on the 1800 block of South Wood Street from the grocery with her children when a van pulled up next to her, shot once, and killed her. She was pronounced dead later, at Stroger hospital.

Also on Saturday, an 80-year-old woman and her two children were found bloody and beaten in their home on the South Side. The woman's granddaughter was also beaten, and is in critical condition. Police are interviewing a man in the case.
