Not That Kind of Hammer

By Matt Wood in News on Oct 11, 2006 12:17PM

chicagoist_20061011_hammer.jpgA 54-year-old Oak Forest man was charged with first-degree murder yesterday for killing his wife by hitting her in the head with a hammer. Antoni Suchon called police on Monday evening, saying he had hit his wife Teresa. Police came to their home and found her dead with not one, but at least six blows to the head.

As usual, the Suchons' neighbors are stunned at the news, saying that while Mr. Suchon had suffered from depression for many years, he was very calm and quiet, with no history of domestic violence. Of course, what could they really say, "That guy was nuts, we're not surprised he bashed her head in with a hammer"? Personally, we like the Sun-Times headline on this article, which makes it sound like he either got his wife really drunk or busted some funky moves to kill her.
