Don't Hate the Playa ...

We know that NFL players aren't exactly the brightest bunch of guys. They got to where they are because they're big, or mean, or fast, and didn't have overprotective Jewish mothers who didn't want their sons going out there and getting themselves killed. But a poll of 361 players really makes Chicagoist wonder what exactly is running through those guys' heads.

In a recent poll to determine the most overrated NFL player, Chicago Bears star linebacker Brian Urlacher came in second -- only loud-mouth, over-medicating Terrell Owens beat him out. Because we don't know when this poll was taken, we can only speculate as to why so many fellow NFL players would select Urlacher. After all, he is the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, is a five-time Pro Bowler, and is currently third in the NFC with 54 tackles. Did the other players not see his 18-tackle, game-winning fumble-causing performance on Monday night? Do they envy his being on an undefeated team? Are they really just that jealous of his time in Paris? As they say, "Don't hate the playa, hate the game."
