The Woeful Tales of Crime in Chicago

By Timmy Watson in News on Oct 29, 2006 7:04PM

Reminiscent of the great weekly series, This Week in Stupid, "STOP! Police" is a new podcast from InsideChicago.tv. "STOP!Police" reporters' use weird, funny and silly stories from the streets and brings them to you via podcast. Michael Holm, the producer of the show, told the Columbia Chronicle that he intends to produce the show like an old-time radio show. “There was a different type of sensationalism back then, and newscasters created excitement when delivering the news,” he said.

David Berner, a faculty member for Columbia's Radio Department, is proposing two podcast programs be added to the curriculum. The two classes would cover producing a podcast as well as the ins and outs of marketing a podcast. Many colleges are already producing podcasts of lectures; we assume courses will soon be offered at most universities.

InsideChicago.tv also produces the podcast, insideChicago, and both programs can be downloaded at the site.
