Who Left a Hinky in the Bathouse?

LOL11_2_06.gifThanks to everyone for all the great recommendations for Convince Us this month. We’re going to go with Mister C’s suggestion of “Lords of the Levee” by Lloyd Wendt, Herman Kogan and Rick Kogan. We like that you all offered up some Chicago books, and since we already read “American Pharoah”, we’ll see whatup with the Hinky Dinks.

While we’re here talking about our fair city, let us remind you that tomorrow night is the “Not for Tourists Guide” launch party. Their 5th annual guidebook is a staple for the fumbling newbie or the savvy native. We know quite a few people who relied heavily on this book when first arriving, and we want to give the fine folks at NFT a shout-out. So check out their party, they’ll even give you a free beer with an invite (you can download that here). You’ll also get a free guide and they’ll be spinning some tunes.

The Not for Tourists Guide to Chicago Launch Party is Friday, Nov. 3., 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. at the Darkroom Bar at 2210 W. Chicago Ave. (773)276-1411.
