Nicky O — Not a No-Go, Just Delayed

2006_11_nickyo.jpgLast we heard, the plug had been pulled on The Nicky O Chicago, Nicky Hilton's condotel project planned for 500 S. Dearborn. Now we hear that the project is still on, but it's just delayed while they figure out the designer drapes. No word on whether or not they'll match the designer carpet.

The hotel was supposed to open this month, and now the launch date is 2006_11_nicky_hilton.jpgApril 1, and that's no joke. The delay is due to the addition of "top-notch designers" who are being added to the team. Designers like Fendi, and Nicole Miller, and Richie Rich and Traver Rains of the Heatherette label. They'll all be contributing to rooms and suites. Oh, and Roberto Cavalli? He'll be designing the lobby.

No word on how much a Fendi suite is. The Nicky O South Beach site doesn't list prices, which convinces us it's all be out of our reach. So who's going to stay here? Well, we read recently that ladies who like to shop (and lunch) are really digging Chicago now, so maybe them?
